Team ropers Murray Linthicum and Dwight Wigemyr won the Canadian heading and heeling titles after roping six steers in 41.7 seconds at the Canadian Finals Rodeo in Edmonton.

The 2008 Canadian Finals Rodeo wrapped up in November and nine new
Canadian champions walked out of the Rexall Place in Edmonton, Alberta.
Among them was steer wrestler Cody Cassidy. Cassidy’s father,
Greg, is a four-time Canadian steer wrestling champion and his brother Curtis
has won the title once himself. What makes this particularly special is that all
three men won a title riding the reigning PRCA/AQHA Steer Wrestling Horse of the
Year, Willy. In 2000, Greg rode the horse to his last title and Curtis won on
him in 2006.
The horse is 23 years old, so for the entire family to win a
championship on him was exceptional. Cassidy earned $74,591 to win the
title.
In the team roping, Canadians Murray Linthicum racked up $27,170
in winnings, while Dwight Wigemyr earned $26,954, each earning their respective
titles.
Kyle Bowers won his second Canadian bareback riding crown, while
bull rider Tyler Thompson snared his first-ever championship. Steven Turner won
the all-around by earning $32,119.
Americans rounded out the list of champions, with Dusty Hausauer taking the
saddle bronc riding title with $63,394, Tyson Durfey winning the tie-down roping
with $59,069 and Lisa Lockhart earning $58,598 to win the barrel racing
crown.
