The origins of this legendary Carona saddle blanket are traceable back to the Conquistadors. The blankets have not been made in over fifty years because the workmanship involved required the talents of an “old master,” skilled in the lost art of hand crafted chumetearo/edging (pronounced chew-mat-te-aro).

Faced with the challenge of reproducing these original Carona saddle blankets, White Eagle was determined in their quest to find a craftsman who still possessed the knowledge and command of the chumetearo artistry; someone who could pass down the secret skills in making these Carona blankets.
