The
Southwest’s noted equine clinician, educator and lecturer, Karen
Scholl, will appear
at the Holiday Horse Market, November 17 and 18th in Wisconsin
Dells.
This
exceptional spokeswoman is scheduled at specific times and will present a
progressive horsemanship course for those who wish to achieve the benefits of
horsemanship education in relaxed surroundings. Karen is a great addition to the
already great line-up of planned speakers. She is a former Parelli instructor
from Cave Creek, AZ who will bring her special Horsemanship
for Women program
beginning Saturday and continue through Sunday. Karen is a horse behaviorist and
clinician who has taught psychology-based horsemanship for over 10 years and
presents practical information that is non-threatening and humorous.
"There are
many resources available today for people to gain insights and understanding
into the horse's mind, but not many that can teach us how to win their heart.
Without the strength of a man, women possess a natural power of influence and
instinct for collaboration... just like horses. Our lack of strength is made up
for in our ability to 'read the horse' and earn their trust." Horses become our
greatest teachers once we gain the insights they are waiting to share with us.
The feeling of connection is what we crave, which many of us can accomplish.
Don’t ever give up on your dream with horses.”
Karen Scholl
was a horse-crazy kid, and even though she begged every birthday and Christmas,
Karen didn’t own her first horse until well into her twenties! Like many people
buying her first horse, Karen’s dream was soon challenged when, unlike the
rented or ranch horses she’d ridden, her horse would sometimes be difficult to
control, scaring her enough to ask advice from other horse owners and folks at
the tack store. Riding lessons helped, but trail riding alone still remained
challenging.
But Karen
figured it out after a school of hard knocks and relates that “there IS a
difference between techniques and relationships with horses and is different
with genders”.
Karen’s talks
include techniques that are for Men and for Women.
Karen will
present her progressive series of talks throughout the weekend, but a separate
Working Man/Woman’s Box Lunch seminar will be held both days from 11:30 AM –
1:00 PM.
Early
Reservations are required due to limited seating. The only charge is extra cost
for lunch.
Many
additional speakers are scheduled which will include Heather Kitching presenting
Barefoot Hoof technology. The barefoot horse versus the shod hoof can be
controversial among some. Allow Heather to point out the benefits of barefoot
hoof trimming in detail.
Rescued
horses or the unwanted horse is one of the most written and talked about topics
in media and equine publications today. CWSTAG director Shirley Hoel will
provide insight and answers to this growing issue. Shirley is bringing along
actual 40 and 50 year old horses kept at her rescue facility. Her guest will
include E. Geurts, DVM who will show a live demonstration on Equine Dentistry.
Shirley will also introduce a new product currently in trial at her facility
which could eliminate costly deworming and annual West Nile vaccinations and
change horse health care around the world.
“Rider
Recovery” is all about healing physically, mentally and spiritually.
It takes a
great deal of self confidence to regain pride and love lost after a horse
incident. Patricia “Boo” Titchenal can help people overcome their fears and
anxieties. She is able to assist in developing confidence once again both at
home and around the barn.
Dr. Tom
Tweeten has gained distinction among the horse world with his techniques and
products that make a horse’s coat glisten.
From horse
shows to trail riding, the horse looks healthy and shiny. Tom’s insight is worth
listening to.
