NBC Universal and Animal Planet both
announced recently that they’d be adding horse events to their sports coverage.
NBC Universal, network host of the
Olympics, will be airing a full schedule of equestrian events over the two week
course of the games.

At the same time, Animal Planet will be
airing three equestrian-oriented specials beginning July 26, and running
intermittently until January.
The three programs are: ROLEX SUPERSTARS
OF SHOW JUMPING, ROLEX GRAND PRIX OF SHOW JUMPING, FTI HAMPTON CLASSIC GRAND
PRIX and returning favorite the ANIMAL PLANET SPORTHORSE
CUP.

upcoming original documentary series JOCKEYS, debuting next
year."
The programs will be hosted by athlete
and sports commentator Lewis Johnson; sports anchor and contributor for the 2008
Summer Olympics in Beijing, Andrew Catalon; and
top international show-jumping competitor and U.S. horse
trainer, Kim Prince.
