Budget cuts to the San Diego Police have forced the sale of force’s mounted
police horses at auction. Bids for the horses started as low as $500 but quickly
shot up. The lowest bid as of yesterday evening was $3,700 for 13-year-old WAM,
but most expected the bids would go much higher, according to Signon San Diego,
an online news source.
The police horses range in age from 5 to 15. The auction is being held at www.publicsurplus.com through Thursday.
