British equestrian dressage rider Lee Pearson had a remarkable run: the unbeaten equestrian in the three Olympic games, won the capstone event—the Dressage Freestyle, on the final day of the Paralympic games in Hong Kong.

"I want to cry," said Pearson who was born with arthrogryposis -- a muscle and joint condition which has left his arms and legs badly twisted -- and who has to ride wearing plastic splints running from his backside to his heels.

Fellow Briton Ricky Balshaw, took silver, and Brazil's Marcos Alves took bronze.

"I would like to inspire any person that you can always do something amazing, you can do something out of this world with what you're given and what you're born with," he told Reuters. The American team didn’t fare as well, with none making the top ranks. Rebecca Hart, who scored a 68 percent, noted that she’s focused on the Alltech 2010 World Equestrian Games, which will be held in Lexington, Kentucky.
