Horse Forced To Dry Out
It came down to the carpet. That’s what forced one very tolerant pub owner in England to ban a local horse from cozying up to the bar. The United Press International reports that the pub owner did a renovation on the interior of the pub where 12-year-old Penny the horse had been a regular. The tipping point came when the owner installed new carpet.

"Although she is probably cleaner than some of my customers, I had to put my foot down and show her the door," said Jackie Gray to the UPI. Gray recently bought O’Malley’s Pub in Jarrow, South Tyneside, renovated it and renamed it the Alexandra Hotel.

Peggy’s owner, retired oil rigger Peter Dolan notes that Peggy, who misses her pint and pickled onion chips, has kicked the habit and is now a teetotaler.
