Happy Ending for Horse Pulled from Spring

A horse that had fallen six or seven feet into a water-filled culvert in Pittsford, Vt. was returned to dry land. The horse, reports Boston.com, suffered from hypothermia, exhaustion, a laceration and a puncture wound, but, barring infection, was expected to recover fully. Firefighters used a hose with rope and a tractor to pull the horse from the well. The 26-year-old mare, Kyrie, laid on her side for a few minutes and then got up and walked to her stall after the rescue. "The fact that she was standing and went immediately to eating was promising," Kyrie’s owner, Susan Musial told the Rutland, Vermont Herald.
