Arson was Cause of Kentucky Fairgrounds Fire
Four barns were destroyed at the Kentucky Exposition Center in a fire that broke out on Sept. 8. The Kentucky State Fire Marshall and Louisville Metro investigators have ruled that the fire was deliberately set.

Two of the barns that burned were more than 50 yards apart. It is likely, investigators say, that two fires were set.

Luckily, the barns were empty because the Kentucky State Fair ended just two days earlier. Had the fire happened over the weekend, it would have been full of Saddlebreds. Police are asking those with tips to contact them at (800) 272-7766.
