Video Description: Visualize a red and white target with a bull’s eye in the center. Using your hindquarter control, move your horse in concentric circles with the marker anchoring your horse’s nose as if it were the center of that bull’s eye. His nose will make a very small circle around it, his front feet will make a slightly larger circle, and his hindquarters will track along as if they were tracing the largest outside circle.
Use your hindquarter cue to change directions. Walk over to another marker and try again, circling in the opposite direction. Switch directions, left and right, at each marker. Little by little, increase the number of steps you can make around the bull’s eye until you can make a complete circle all the way around the marker. |
