Our horse trips last 5 days and consist of groups of, but are not limited to, 2 - 6 people. Request information on a horse packtrip now! We can provide a horseback riding trip for any size group and any number of days.
Our camp is located 22 miles into the Washakie Wilderness adjoining the southeastern boundary of Yellowstone National Park. This requires an 8 hour horseback trip.
WYOMING'S BLISS CREEK OUTFITTERS OFFERS A PRIMITIVE WILDERNESS EXPERIENCE, WITH SOME SURPRISING MODERN CONVENIENCES:
We ride the same trails that John Colter, mountain man and meat hunter for the Lewis and Clark Expedition, Jack Bliss, notorious horse thief and outlaw as well as the Shoshone Indian Tribes rode some 100 years ago.
The camp is set up in Bliss Creek Meadows, where Jack Bliss was gunned down by Wyoming Ranch Detectives on June 4th, 1892.
Camp consists of wall tents, all with propane stoves. Our heated shower tent offers a warm welcome after family style meals in the big cook and dining tent.
A GREAT FAMILY SUMMER VACATION:
While at Bliss Creek you'll find lots to do. We take horseback rides through mountain scenery, scout for wildlife, go hiking, play horseshoes, go fishing or just spend a day in camp relaxing.
Bliss Creek as well as the beaver ponds close to camp offer excellent fishing for trout. Pan size cutthroat or brookie make a tasty meal. Elk lake, a one hour ride away offers golden trout.
After a fun filled day, we gather around the fire. Stories about Jack Bliss are told, fishing stories, many yarns are being spun and many falling stars being counted on those incredible clear nights.
