Trainer / Clinician, Susan Kirk, is a 1994 Graduate of the John Lyons Certification Program. Having over twenty years professional horse experience, Susan has been featured on the Cover of Perfect Horse Magazine with her Extreme Mustang Makeover horse, Big Mac, and has authored the book "Trailer Training for You and Your Horse". Susan and Mac have performed at Horse Fairs and Expos with an entertaining Liberty Performance to music over trail obstacles. Several of Susan's Foundation Quarter Horses were chosen to represent the Foundation Quarter Horse Breed in Fran Lynghaug's new 500 page breed book titled "The Official Horse Breeds Standard Guide". Susan has been a member of a wide range of breed associations over the years and has been a Carded Judge and Representative for the Foundation Quarter Horse Registry and a representative for the American Warmblood Society. She has an equally varied showing career from Dressage and Stadium Jumpers to Reining and Working Cow Horses. Susan prefers to concentrate on riders that fall between the cracks of breed affiliations or disciplines, but want to develop and have a wonderful relationship with their horses regardless of breed or equestrian pursuit.
Susan's clinics are focused on horse enthusiasts who are interested in having a calm, relaxed and fun relationship with their horses regardless of riding discipline or breed of horse. The clinics are slow paced creating a more comfortable atmosphere for those not completely confident with their horse handling or riding skills.
You can contact Susan about having a clinic at your facility. She is available for Guest teaching at Childrens Horse Camps, Corporate Retreats, Private Clinics for Horse Groups and Performances at Horse Fairs and Expos with Big Mac.
Susan has a tremendous amount of experience rehabilitating horses with serious behavioral issues, but prefers to do this type of work in a one on one setting. If you would like a complete evaluation of a horse with serious behavioral issues, Susan has a vast knowledge or proper fitting saddles and tack, lameness and health issues. She also has an awesome network of professionals that assist in these specialized areas when necessary, along with her ability to rehabilitate the behaviors caused by outside interferences as well as learned behavior to get you back on a healthy and safe road with your horse.
