You may be the first rider on some of your favorite trails this season.
Although you know the paths well, you may not know how much foliage has grown
over since your last ride. Spring greenery can clutter your path or even make it
dangerous to pass.
With permission from the trail’s owner or manager, trim back overgrown
branches. If the overgrowth is light, you can use ordinary garden clippers. If
you ride through dense, forested areas, consider using a folding saw, such as
the Sven-Saw from Sven Products Inc. This 15-inch saw weighs less than a pound,
and the blade folds into the handle for safety and easy toting. Cost: Visit the
website for dealer information. Contact: www.svensaw.com.
